Explorer Program

Explorer Post 681

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 681 offers young people between the ages of 14 and 20 who are interested in law enforcement the opportunity to learn about police work and acquire skills used by police officers.

Explorers participate in community service events, fingerprinting, traffic and crowd control assignments, neighborhood crime watch events and searches for lost children. Other activities include the National Explorer Conference, ride-alongs with Sheriff’s deputies, and various other activities.

Exploring is a division of Learning for Life, which is a subsidiary of Boy Scouts. Meetings are held every Monday between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on West High Street, Lawrenceburg Indiana.

Our Mission:

Dearborn County Explorer Program provides youth the opportunities to promote leadership, discipline, and structure while also promoting positive relationships with members of the Police Department. Dearborn County Explorer Program is committed to providing outstanding service to Dearborn County. They are held to the highest level of Honor, Duty, and Integrity to build qualities of character to become model citizens in the community.
